17 in ’17 is the library’s year-long reading program for adults. Challenge yourself — family, friends and neighbors — to read 17 books of your choosing in 2017. Any book, in any format or genre may be selected.

I attended the kick-off and signed in. Does that mean I am registered for the challenge?
No. the sign-in sheet was for the committee to know who attended the event. To be registered for the challenge, please click here or come to the circulation desk at the library.
How do I get my raffle tickets?
When you finish a book, bring your log sheet to the library or tell the staff you are keeping track online. You can pick up your raffle tickets each time you read a book or save them for your next visit. Raffle tickets are good from the 17th of the month through the 16th of the following month. On the 17th of each month, we will draw a ticket. The winner will receive an Amazon gift card. The challenge will culminate with several winners in December! Every ticket received during the year will be entered for the December prizes.
Do I have to complete the topics on the Reading Challenge List to get my tickets?
No. You only have to list the title of the 17 books you’ve read to earn tickets. Participants are welcome to complete 10 categories on the topic challenge list for 5 extra tickets, if they choose.
I attended an event. How many tickets do I get?
Is the challenge meant for someone like me? – I read 16 books in a month!
The challenge is for everybody! Whether you read a little or a lot isn’t important. We applaud your reading and appreciate that you are a regular supporter of the Flint Memorial Library. Whether you read one or 100 books, we want patrons to be part of the fun. Be rewarded for your reading by attending the special programs, entering the raffles and adding your titles to our grand total for 2017.
