Book Sale & Donations

As you may know, the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale was cancelled due to our surplus vendor, Big Hearted Books, suddenly ceasing operation. The Friends are already exploring new solutions for our book and clothing donations and the Book Sale is expected to return in the Fall.

In the meantime, we request that you please hold on to your donations until we have a new vendor and new bins to work with. If you must donate now, please seek an alternative destination for donating books and clothing as the Big Hearted Bins in our rear parking lot are currently full and pickup has not been guaranteed. We will send out an update on this matter soon. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your support of the library.

When the bins return, the Friends welcome your donations of good-condition books, CDs, DVDs, VHS, records, and cassettes for the upcoming Book Sale. You may call Jean Osborn, of the Friends, at 978-664-0516 for information.

The Books Sales have historically served many purposes — as a fundraiser for the Friends primarily, but also as a social gathering where people can stock up on reading material for all ages. The Friends have always been dependent on the generosity of the townspeople who donate books in great quantities. It’s all a wonderful example of green recycling. These books have many lives. They give pleasure to all their owners, past, present and future.
