Find the Doctor!

Our friend Tom Campbell from Heart North East Radio in Newcastle, England had a large order for our Doctor Who Club on Dec. 1 — Find the Doctor! Click the video above to see Tom ask for our help.

Using Google Maps and Google Earth, the American Whovians searched high and low for the Doctor in some of his best-known locations. All while getting to know a little bit about England. IMG_4937

Free Music!

Your library doesn’t just get you books, it now gets you free music.

That’s right.

Download the Freegal Music app on your iPhone or Android. If you’d rather use your computer, click here. You’ll be asked to enter your zip code and choose your library. Just let the fine folks at Freegal know that you are a Flint Memorial Library patron, then enter your full library card number.

From there, you’re good to go! You’ll be able to download five songs per week, and stream three hours of music a day.

Free Magazines!

On top of free music, you can now get free magazines!

Starting Sept. 1, the library will offer the top 50 magazines via the new Zinio for Libraries program. Using your library card, you can download a magazine and read whenever you want — for free!

Included in the program are:

  • Cosmopolitan
  • ESPN the Magazine
  • Rolling Stone
  • Esquire
  • Seventeen
  • Food Network Magazine
  • Taste of Home
  • Us Weekly
  • Vogue
  • Marie Claire
  • National Geographic

… and many, many more!
